About Me
i'm kind of a geek
Greetings and Salutations!
My name is Fran and I am a blue haired, tattooed geek girl with a love of dragonflies, my toes in the grass & ocean, swing dresses and my well loved Doc Martians & Chucks. I also might have a slight obsession with all things Disney, Harry Potter, Supernatural & Doctor Who (my family was in Offbeat Home &Life because of it!)
I am the proud parent of an LBGTQA+ teen (and occasional facilitator of Howard County PFLAG Parents of Trans/Gender Fluid group,) zoo keeper to 3 dogs of various degrees of fuzziness (Daisy, Mario & Dobby,) a cat named Frog and 2 spastic ferrets (Gerard & Mickey, who have their own Insta.) Oh, and I have been with my awesome nerdy husband since I was 16.
I haven't met a DIY project I can't wait to try, a scrapbook page I didn't want to make or a cosplay idea I didn't want to put together. Watching all the different elements come together to make something come alive is fantastic. I approach all my events the same way. Helping a client pull together all of their puzzle pieces to make an event that is uniquely theirs is the best feeling!
I've seen a lot since I started planning in 2003, but I am always looking to see more!
Giving Back
it's important!
Green Dragonfly Events is proud to donate a portion of its earnings to Howard County PFLAG, who mission statement is to promote the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people, their families and friends through:
-
SUPPORT – to cope with an adverse society.
-
EDUCATION – to enlighten an ill-informed public.
-
ADVOCACY – to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights.
PFLAG is the extended family of the LGBTQ+ community. PFLAG families, friends and allies work together with those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer+ to provide opportunities for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity. PFLAG acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.
